So, I've noticed over the last few weeks whenever I put my foundation on you can see my flaky/peely skin underneath. I'm worried that trying a moisturizer will make my oily skin a lot worse, but I need help with the dry spots... It's super frustrating!! Any product suggestions?

I have the same skintype and I've struggled with the same exact flakiness under makeup. From what you wrote it seems you dont use a moisturizer? You MUST use a moisturizer no matter what skintype you are. Skin actually produces EXCESS oil when it's not properly moisturized so definitely moisturize. There are tons of oil-free moisturizers out there. I recommend the clinique line (they have moisturizers for combo skin like ours) but if you cant afford that, neutrogena has a great oil-free moisturizer for combination skin also. These wont leave skin oily, actually help control oil, and take care of those dry spots. If the dry spots are still really flaky, try something like ponds skin cream just on those spots as spot-treatments under your makeup :)
Also, try to find a nice skin primer that will get your skin all moisturized and smooth (they also have oil-controlling properties) for under your makeup! Just an oil-free one should do the trick.
If either of these things work, it could be your foundation that is drying out your skin somehow.

I went out to Target tonight and bought two different things to try. I got Up & Up Dual Treatment Oil Free Moisturizer, which is apparently comparable to Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. I also got (and am kinda excited about) Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream. Has anyone else tried it?

I've been focused a lot on taking care of breakouts (my chin and forehead have been a wreck due to stress) and failing to focus on skincare as a whole. I've just recently been using CO Bigelow Gentle Oil-Absorbing Clay Cleanser followed by True Pore-Fection Skin Revitalizing Toner by Avon at night, but not using anything in the mornings to add moisture back in. The toner makes my skin feel super soft and smooth. I'm excited to see how my new routine works!

I have the same exact problem with my skin! Since the winter months started, my skin has been so dry and oily at the same time and every time I put on makeup, my skin gets super flaky and it is beyond annoying! I agree with Sofia C., the Clinique moisturizers are great (especially the dramatically different gel!), but I use all different kinds! I have very acne prone skin as well and I'm always worried that moisturizers will make me break out but I've finally learned that if I don't moisturize, then I break out even more! Also, sometimes oil-free moisturizers don't moisturize me enough, so if the oil-free one you bought doesn't work well, don't hesitate using one that isn't oil free! If you have acne-prone skin, the most important part is using a good acne system and being consistent with it, so the fact that you use a moisturizer with oil won't even matter! Also, I bought the Garnier BB Cream too and I LOVE it! It looks so natural and covers up my uneven skintone and blends really well too! It even helped out with the dry/flakiness on my face!
I hope this helps! :)

I would recommend trying one of the following moisturizers, they are all really lightweight and will absorb right into the skin to help balance out your oil production:
- Pangea Organics' Moroccan Argan with Willow and Rosemary Facial Cream
- Phytomer Hydra-Matifying Control Cream
OR - Clinical Care Skin Solutions Control Zone
**All can be found online- the Pangea Organics is my favorite (pangeaorganics.com)

When ever that happens to me, I actually just use olive oil at night on my face. I smooth it wherever the flakiness is, let it sit for about ten minutes, then just wash it off. It seems to help!
