Hey, so I am going to get my hair dyed like Michelle Phan (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7018/6788119367_c256ff9494.jpg). I'm so in love with her hair color that i'm actually going to get it done. I have never gone lighter with my hair. I have dyed it darker to cover up my salt and pepper gray hair. My stylist already warned me it might take all day to achieve the color but i'm going for it!

Does anyone have recommendations on a color safe, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that won't break the bank? I would also consider brands that are more expensive.. depending on the reviews the products get.

Let me know beauties, thanks!

My all time favorite shampoo for color treated hair would be Kerastase's Chroma Riche. Smells amazing and really leaves my color fresh and seals it in. I always get asked if I got my color touched up on. I see my stylist every 6-8 weeks.

I agree with linda but if you can't afford Kerastase Chroma Riche, try Redkin Blond. Its in the yellow bottle. Its extra hydrating and smells great. All hair color types can use this shampoo but it is formulated with the extra moisture blonds need.

Thanks Linda and Kayla for the suggestions. I will def check both out. What do you think about Bumble and Bumble?

bumble and bumble is great. I used to use Bumble Shine but it was too heavy for my fine hair. I also get breakouts and the "shine" was a tad bit greasy!

I never liked any Bumble & Bumble products. I've always had really bad experience's with there packaging. I also find that some of their products are really heavy on the hair and weighs it down.

Hmm so @Linda D, what would you suggest? You have the exact hair color that i'm going for... :)

I recommend the L'Oréal EverStrong Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner (sulfate-free so safe for color-treated hair) and The Body Shop Rainforest Radiance Hair Butter (hair mask). When I lightened my hair, it got super dry and damaged and this Body Shop mask saved it.

I would try the Kerastase Chroma Riche shampoo first and if you end up not liking it much I would totally invest in Oribe's Beautiful Color shampoo and conditioner. This stuff is like crack to hair lol. Seals the color in and does not cause any fading. The packaging sucks but the product is amazing.

Both the Kerastase shampoo and Oribe one are around the same price. I find that investing a little more into your hair you really see a difference. I have nothing against drugstore I just never had the results I wanted.
