Really, really, really tag your videos. It's like tagging your posts on Tumblr so that people will see your posts more. It's the same on YouTube. I mean, nobody can guarantee you'll get a bunch of views every time, but it still helps.
Networking works a bunch especially with Twitter. Sometimes if you tweet a "higher person" enough, they'll follow you back and sometimes even help you out.
