To me the camera doesnt matter, just make sure its at least more than 7 megapixels, have good lighting, and good intentions. Windows movie maker or imovie.

Windows Movie Maker isn't great. I use it and it crashes ALLLLLL the time. QuickTime apparently has a good movie editor

I use my iPhone 4S camera haha--and I have no problems with windows movie maker. It works well but I wish it allowed for voice overs.
