I get Biotin from GNC; it's a pretty expensive vitamin, but holy crap, when I'm taking it daily my nails grow (I swear) in 2 weeks. As in, I need to cut them, because they're too long..haha. And sturdy. Definitely worth a try. (Also, it makes my hair grow)

I drink Biotin from GNC and it has worked. I also stay on top on my nails by cutting, filing and polishing since I had acrylics on for so long. I also use a clear polish by sally hansen called hard as acrylics. Its very shiny and last a long time.

I use CUCCIO's Forte Horsetail Nail Strengthener any time I paint my nails. I also moistuize my cuticles DAILY, and leave a small area between my polish and cuticles so my nails can still breathe. Lastly, I never cut my nails, I always file them. I use a glass file because they're meant for going back and forth on your nail without disturbing the nail bed and causing damage. My nails are long, healthy, and thick now!

vitamins are great because when your growing your nails its super important to keep them healthy. using oils like cuticle oil or even olive oil on your on your cuticle once a day helps keep your nails healthy too, buy yourself a 4way buffer and a file and buff & file your nails weekly it helps prevent chipping that can result in your nails breaking. its also important to always wear polish specially at first. polish will keep your nails strong so its harder for them to break. it doesn't matter what type even just topcoat by itself works. :)

BTW - cuticle oil won't work on cuticles because the real cuticle is a horny (rigid) growth. The skin around the nail which people call the cuticle is actually the eponychium. I know on Wiki they call it the cuticle but the eponychium and cuticle are two different parts of the nail. The cuticle is directly underneath the eponychium which is why cuticle oil won't do anything for it.

^^ Interesting Yasmin! I use Nail Envy, and it works wonders! I also soak my hands in water and epsom salt twice a week. :) It's working great! I also take prenatal vitamins everyday. It seriously works like crazy to grow your nails and hair! ^.^

I would first suggest you use sally hansens nail repair kit. It's great for helping to heal and hydrate nails. When I first started going natural with my nails it worked wonders. My second suggestion is make sure you protect your nails from harsh chemicals like cleaning products make sure you wear gloves. Lastly if you do decide to take Biotin or prenatal vitamins, becareful Biotin can cause breakouts and pernetal vitamins can cause water weight, matter of fact I think it was my mom that told me your not suppose to take prenatal orally but crush them up and put it in you shampoo for hair growth. hope this helps.
