I'm Bi-Racial ( Black and Hispanic ) so my hair is curly , and a bit dry but I condition it regularly and when I straighten it out I use a " black girl " thermo protector . I have bleached my hair before but only in small amounts with Raw's 40 Proof bleaching Kit, so I'm a bit hesitant to bleach the whole thing for an Indigo color . Can someone give me advice ? Suggestions ? It will be GREATLY appreciated !

What ever you do, do not use anything higher than a 30vol (9%) peroxide.. higher developers react to quickly and throw tonnes of orange and gold tones. Even though you have dark hair don't be fooled to achieve the colour you want you only need to lift the hair base colour 3-4 shades and you also do not want to over process your hair or your scalp... obviously the lighter the colour you would like the lighter you need to go with the bleach.. Try not to leave it on any longer than necessary most bleaching should be kept within a 1 hour time frame.. Once you have applied the bleach and left it process shampoo the product out but do not condition yet, this way the cuticle is open.. Do the intended colour then let it process because the hair is open the colour only needs a maximum of about 20mins usually to absorb into the cortex.. Then rinse thoroughly and condition/treat the hair heavily to help close the cuticle and help get a longer life out of your colour.. any lightening will damage/dry the hair a bit.. so treat at least once a week. :) any more q's let me know!! :)

OMG YES lol!! Don't use anything higher than 30vol MAX!! - Thanks Kate, spaced out on that one! - I agree with Kate if your not sure about doing your whole head just do a small section, foils would probably be easier to do yourself, see how it turns out first if you like it do the rest of the hair but don't do the same section you tested that way it wont be any more damaged than need be :)

Omg thank you guys soo much , I honestly thought I needed to go almost white to get the color I wanted , so I went to 40vol. and it fried my ends lol . Thanks again :D

To tone your hair purple you need to go yellow blonde if you already have darker colors in your hair you need to strip it 2 or 3 times get it as light as possible with out full bleach. Then go in with 20vol bleach and blue powder hopefully your hair won't go orange brassy but if it does you will need to dye your hair ash blonde and leave it 2 weeks before goin in with bleach again. Through this whole process you need to deep condition your hair loads you already said it's dry it will go much dryer so condition condition! Once you get to an all over yellow blonde then you can dye it indigo
