I know this is a beauty forum, but I'd really like to get to know some of you better! I want to know, what is your favorite genre of music? maybe even your favorite artist of all time!
I really like alternative rock and heavier metal genres. like melodic death metal, power metal, symphonic metal, instrumental, and math core.
my all time favorite band is Our Lady Peace, but I love Children of Bodom, Protest the Hero, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, and Animals as Leaders. and don't even get me started on the 80's hair metal & pop.
I really feel like our style in make up correlates to our favorite music. take Leesha, for example. She does really bright, really fun, rave inspired tutorials. I can't say I heard her say it personally but I'm under the impression she likes techno/dance/the likes.

Hahaha, ooooh this should be fun. My favourite genres of music are (surprisingly to some people) metal and hardcore. I'm talking like, The Acacia Strain is my favourite band. Some other favourites are Trapped Under Ice, Comeback Kid, Have Heart, Bane, so on and so forth. But I also love everything from Nicki Minaj, to Juicy J, to Beyonce, to Billie Holiday... I'm a big mess, but hardcore will always have my heart! <3

I completely agree with you Sierra, about how our style in makeup a lot of times correlates to our favorite music. I mainly listen to weird & funky alternative & pop music, and a lot of indie rock, but I also listen to R&B, Spanish music, reggae, etc (just depends on my mood, honestly). But I have to say my all-time favorite artist would have to be Jack Johnson, but my second favorite artist is definitely Kimbra. Other favorites of mine at the moment are Of Monsters and Men, Eliza Doolittle, Ingrid Michaelson, Mumford & Sons, Coldplay, Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding, Regina Spektor, Adele, Bruno Mars, Janelle Monae, Young the Giant & Vampire Weekend, just to name a few :P

I love all forms of music. I had a interesting conversation with one of my college professors before Christmas break. He is a die-hard AC/DC fan while I love Metallica. He was blown away that I know so much history about metal bands that he actually told me that he never took me as a metal fan but one that loved jazz. My mom had us kids listen to all types of music. She even exposed us to SKA music. I simply love it all.

@L.B.-I've never heard of those bands. What genre of metal are they?
@Shelley-I like Jazz. makes me sleepy though. Used to be a Metallica fan, grew out of it though. I'm into much heavier stuff now.
@Terra M- I loooove viking metal! my boyfriend is in a viking metal band, they're recording right now!

My taste in music is ALL over the place, which is probably while my makeup style is never consistent.
The thing is, I tend to listen to more heavy metal (particularly groove, thrash, and death.) but I rarely wear really dark, grungy, rocker makeup because I don't like it on myself. I still like to look fairly polished. ^_^

Ooh, a music question. I like!
I like pretty much everything. My parents were very good at broadening my musical horizons. Although I was accused of having an "old man's taste" in music when I was in high school, I think I've grown into it now that I'm in my 30s.
I listen mainly to Rock nowadays but the Blues, Soul, R&B, Pop, Jazz, J-Rock, Bollywood, World Music, etc., still get a fair amount of playtime on my speakers. I don't even care if it's in English or not, as long as it sounds good. Hyuk!
Favourite bands and artistes? Ooh, too many to list them all but the ones who get (pretty much) constant play are Led Zeppelin, Queen, Santana, The Beatles, Silversun Pickups, Stevie Wonder, Amos Lee, Stone Temple Pilots, Depeche Mode, The Raconteurs, Elton John, Laura Pausini, Garbage, Julian Velard... Um... A few Singaporean bands... Um... Wow, there are a LOT of bands hanging about at the top of my noggin.
I try to switch up my playlists but I always end up returning to these artists/bands. I have to make more of an effort this year. So many tunes I haven't heard in a while. Stumbled on the Black Album recently and, you know what? It still kicks butt.
And it's interesting to see how varied our musical tastes are. Looking forward to discovering some new music!

Oooh---sweet topic! And I am currently seeking primo underground music as we speak :-)
I listen to almost anything I can tap my feet to. Mainly, I listen to a lot of classical, eletronica/experimental pop stuff, some hardcore rock, jazz, blues, and select top 40 hip-hop/r&b stuff. Also, dubstep. Love dubstep to bits.
However, my makeup tends to lean more on the hardcore rock side but I am trying to soften things up a bit these days.
