Start heavily promoting your YouTube channel on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and different forums like this one.
Make sure you are properly tagging your videos, and try to do looks that people are searching for. Some very popular videos are... Everyday makeup looks, eyebrow tutorials, and foundation routines. Hope this helps... xoxo- Maisha

Thank you Maisha but I thought that promoting myself would annoy others. I guess I was wrong thank you.

It can be when it is shameless. Learning how to promote your videos without it appearing so is hard.
The first step is to make videos that others may find useful to your target audience. I am a member of a hair forum where I used to always see women posting questions about how to create the perfect arched eyebrow. I made a YouTube video about it, and posted it on that forum. I got about 50 subscribers from that action alone. That is discret promotion.
I am still learning just like you, and I think the biggest thing I've learned is to become very active in online communities that center aroung your target audience. As you develop your voice, you'd be surprised how much people will seek you out.
