Hello my name is Rachael and I am 21 and I live in Richmond, VIRGINIA. I have LOVED makeup and doing hair since I can remember, I remember everyday putting on my moms lipstick and mascara and poking myself in the eye with it haha. After a year in cosmetology school I realized I only love doing MY hair, but I still love doing makeup for everyone, myself included.
I recently got a job at Ulta and I love it. I would like to pursue some kind of career in the field or general area of makeup, but I'm not sure what, whether it be an artist or manage a store. Until I decide though, I'm studying psychology in college.
Other things I love are going to the gym, eating, horror movies, studying criminal psychology, my cat, my friends.
Can't wait to hear from some of you :)

I know what you mean about loving makeup and helping others with it. I am done with college twice as I have both a Bachelor's and a Master's and I can't seem to shake my passion for makeup (not that I was ever trying to!) Well I am almost done with my doctorate degree and I have had a strong nudge to look into a career in makeup. I am in the process of interviewing with MAC and have a demo with them tomorrow where I have to bring a model to do a complete makeup look on. I am currently applying for a part-time position and will see what this leads to as I am strongly considering a career shift! I recommend that you keep pursuing your dreams and they will come true. As Raeven C. said, this is a loving and welcoming community and I am sure you will fit and contribute and learn a lot. Looking forward to learning from you.

Hi Rachael, welcome to Beautylish! You'll find that this website will become extremely addicting and you'll receive tons of support from all the girls here. It's a rare oddity for someone to treat you unfairly or rude! Anyway, I'm 17 years old and I'll actually be going to school to become a licensed Aesthetician. If you wanna break into the make-up field, this is a great way. Not only do you learn make-up technique but also about skincare. :)
