Feather Hair Extensions

I have ethnic, natural spiraled, curly hair. Do you think these will work in my hair? I straighten my hair all the time, but when I wash it it goes bac to the tight curls. I know I could take it out before I wash it, but that may get annoying!

I got three feathers in my hair for only 30 dollars at the hair salon, and I love them! I have had them for two weeks now and they curl, straighten and act like real hair!

@Althea... I think that feathers work in all hair. They are straight, but they do curl. If you wear your hair curly then I would say pull out a curling iron grab a small section of hair with the feathers and curl it. I wouldnt just curl the feathers... I personally would want the feathers to entangle with your hair.

I love my feathers so much. I have had them in for about a month. I am noticing that they have grown out a bit. When I try to fun my fingers through my hair or brush my hair I see that my fingers or comb get stuck (at the top near my scalp). I plan on taking them out and putting them back in this weekend.

I also will be making my own feather extensions. I bought the feathers, dye and hair glue (to bond all the feathers together). This will be my DIY project for this weekend.

@Nancy-Lee... I am very interested to see what it looks like in your bangs. Please pot pictures once you get it done.

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that Plume4You is now offering tie dye feathers... they are amazing and really hard to find! You can also buy fancy feathers now which are a thicker more feather-like feather if you are something that stands out a bit more! The best part is that you can mix and match them any way that you want, every order is custom so you get to pick the color of every feather you purchase! You can also request extra micro links so you can reset your feathers when they grow out! If you have questions about feather extensions in general, feel free to email me at plume4you@gmail.com I would be happy to chat about any questions you have! here are the links to check it out:

@Jessie I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tie-dye. I would love to know how to color my feathers like that. I think I am going to try it. They are stunning.

@ Rachael... Thanks! ... yeahhh i am obsessed with the tie-dye right now! I put the ones in that I posted above with solid orange, yellow, and pink feathers! perfect for summer!!! they are a bit tricky to dye but if you want to try it yourself I would recommend doing one color at a time!

@Jessie... I dont think that I will be able to do that. I am going to just stick with the solid ones at the moment. I wish I had the money to buy a few from you but I am unemployed and my unemployment stops in about 2 weeks. I am trying to figure out how to save money but stay up with all the new fads. But they are gorgeous!!!

We can barely keep our Grizzly feather hair extensions in stock. :)

With the grizzly hair feathers you receive 3 feathers, 2 micro links and 1 threading wire. We've tried to keep our prices very competitive.

I just got some done at the fair last week. It's been 5 days now and they're still in my hair. I've been careful to not brush where it's attached though and careful with it when washing my hair. The lady said it should last at least 2 weeks as long as you don't pull on it when brushing your hair, and some last a month or longer. 5 days and still good, we'll see how long it lasts.
I was wanting to get some more though and the grizzly feathers, but I've been searching all over the internet and they are just too expensive. When I got mine at the fair the lady gave me 5 feathers and put them in w/ fishing wire and a crimp clip (or whatever you call it, it wasn't a bead it was a metal one to attach it) and she even put a bead on top of that for decoration for $5. It was 4 black peacock feathers (kind of green/blue in the light) and one big purple feather. I was kind of in a hurry because we were getting ready to leave when I passed her booth, so I didn't think to get her name/contact info. in case I wanted to get more.
But, after searching all over the internet including ebay, it seems really expensive. Most are over $20 and you only get like 3 feathers, and most are a bundle where you don't get to choose your own, just choose the basic color and get what's in that color bundle. The best I've found is $18 for 6 feathers and you get to choose your own feathers (they have all skinny ones and grizzly and plain colors). But, I was wanting to get a set for each side of my hair and that would end up costing like $40. I don't want to pay that much just to put feathers in my hair, even if it is a big trend going on right now, that still seems like a lot. I'm thinking of going to a local fishing store to see if they have any for less than that.
But, does anyone know where I'd be able to get 9 feathers (I'm wanting all skinny ones, 6 black/white grizzly, 2 plain purple, 2 plain pink, and 2 plain yellow) for no more than $25?

I have had mine in for a few months now. Yes... I have taken them out after about a month b/c there was hair growth and the microlink was a little far down my hair... but I was able to put mine back in. I love all my feathers. I have 3 bundles in at the moment (each have 6 feathers). I got most of my feathers on Etsy.

Okay, I just found some on etsy.com where they let you choose what feathers you want and it is a set of 10 for $27. I think I'm going to go with that. Thanks for mentioning etsy.com!

I love feather extensions but I am not too big on the idea of the "permanent" ones. My outfit and style vary too much from day to day to make them a permanent fixture but I do love the clip in ones. By Samii Ryan makes amazing clip ins (she also does single earrings as well). Check her out: http://www.bysamiiryan.com/. I have purchased pairs of earrings (not made by Samii Ryan) on eBay as well. See the photo! --->
