I bet quite a few of us have worked in a beauty store at one point or another (why not incorporate you're obsession into your career?). What makeup or beauty brand/store have you worked for?

I worked in a Victoria's Secret beauty store (not the lingerie store, though we got the discount) when I was 16...so long ago...(loved that so many of their products were manufactured by the same manufacturer as MAC), then I handled branding and copywriting as an adult for Marakele Minerals when they were first launching, and I launched B.Koi Cosmetics last year. Just can't stay away!

I worked for Clinique for 5 years in the 90's. I was the SkinCare Specialist. I wish I could 'just' sell the skincare. I hate applying makeup to ppl but I can talk/show/sell skincare all day and night.

@Andrea G - I got one for you. *raises right hand* Honest Truth: I was the Counter Manager of a Department Store Brand and I had a client in the chair giving her a skin consultation. She was about 67 and I was 22, I was having a very bad break out session on my face and when I started to ask her if she currently experiences any blemishes, she points at my face and starts to wag her finger and say "like this? Can't you do something about that?" My jaw dropped almost as far as my heart sank. I simply replied "if my acne bothers you, I can have another consultant assist you today." She said no and I proceeded with my job but what an awkward 45 minutes that was.

I'm actually going to be applying to a few places here soon, but Nancy-Lee I feel you! I've worked retail for quite some time, and have way too many horror stories to count. Way to handle that situation though...women are so critical of each other, especially older women to younger :/ It's such a shame.

I currently work at Victoria's Secret. Out store has PINK and lingerie, but we also carry beauty, and I'm a beauty girl! Our makeup selection isn't huge, and doesn't have all the products VS offers, but I still love it.
I also am the 'eye model' for the brand Concrete Minerals! I don't technically 'work' for them, as they don't pay me, but they send me their products and I send them my swatches! It's so weird to see my eyeballs on a website! xD
