Ugh goodness... I spend WAY too much on makeup. Normally what I do just to not make myself feel horrible about spending so much, I spend little amounts in different places, but at the end of the day it all adds up to like, $300 lol. I do most of my makeup shopping online, so I'll spend like $80 at MAC, another $80 at Sephora, etc... It all adds up and then I'm wondering why I barely have any money :P

I agree with you ladies haha. It definitely adds up even when you spend here and there. Its hard to go anywhere that sells makeup without buying some. I have too much!! I havent even touched a lot of it too!

For me, it is unrealistic to spend a ton of money on makeup in one sitting.
So I normally will spend no more than fifty dollars on makeup at a time just to keep myself from going too crazy.
And when I spend that much it is usually on a palette that I've been really wanting.
But whenever the MAC Hello Kitty collection came out, I was about ready to spend well over one hundred in one sitting.
I was getting my mother to order it online for me and had every intention of paying her back, but she ended up just buying it for me with her money since it was around my birthday.

Woah! had to break out the receipt file. Once I spent $200 at Fred Meyers on eyelashes they were buy one get one 1/2 off. I spent $248 at Mac on the studio moisture tints and mineralized skin finishes. Money well spent.

Probably around £150, which is equivalent to around $250-$300 in exchange, but around $150 in actual cost as makeup in USA is cheaper x

Sephora is a very dangerous to be. LOL I think I spent about $300 at once. Like you, I'd grab a item from here and there. I'll be like $18 for an eyeliner, that's cheap. Ooooh $28 for that... "hmmm... yeah it's worth it!"

You think you're shopping smart, until you are all rung up, and you're like WTH did I just do. Hehehe... but this was pre-2nd-baby and when I was very into MUFE a few years ago (everyone I knew pretty much was into MAC, and I wanted something that was similar but different. I wanted to go a cheaper route, but I realized I went a more expensive route with MUFE.)

Do you think it's all worth it? spending like $200 or $300 on makeup? when you can spend half that money at a drugstore and get twice the products? or save it for a nice car?

I don't think I've spent that much in one day so probably around $50 or less. Maybe collectively in a month I've spent more than $100 though.

I normally don't ever spend over 60 dollars, but thats only when I take trips to Chicago and go to MAC. I average I spend is between 10 - 20 dollars.

@Kirsten - When it's going towards your job, I don't think it's unreasonable. But for your own personal collection, Yeah, I don't like I could spend 300 dollars. I mean, I know I COULD, but you would have to roll me out of Sephora on a stretcher.

I think the most I've ever spent in one sitting is probably around $80...but monthly...HAH! I'm sure it is WAY more than that!

Before i would spend like $200 a time going shopping at like Sephora or Macys and it would add up to that!
But now i budget myself because ive got to pay rent and bills now.
So more than often depending on how much my check comes out to,
i will give myself a $50-$60 price range per check to kinda spoil myself a bit ;)

Well yeah I freelance and most of my products are high end but I mean for a young girl... she really only needs drugsotre products

oh goodness ha-ha the last time i was in NYC visiting my best friend i spent probablly $300 between the MAC store and sephora. Its so easy to do you see everything and just have to have it. I freelance also like many of you have said so i mainly use brand name products but its definitely turned into an addiction for me

I've spent close to 300 I wanna say? When the MAC x Hello Kitty collection came out :p other than that day, I have never spent close to that much ever.

$400 on brushes... received as a gift, but I selected it for purchase? [I did wait 3 years to get that gift though...] Worst damage on my own was about $350 for the MUFE limited edition Rock for Ever train case last December... I only did so because the contents in the case itself was well over $600, and many were staples and items I wanted to try, so I ended up saving in the long run.

Hell, I COULD have a nicer car, but honestly - if it gets me from point A to point B I'm happy. If anyone wants to judge my character on the car I drive or the makeup I use, so be it. I'd much rather spend my time enjoying the things I work hard for and am blessed to have.

...of course, I sure wouldn't mind a nicer car though... haha.  =P

I don't go make up crazy anymore. The cost of living in Hawaii is insane, add children to that mix. It wasn't bad when I just had my eldest, but now I have the younger one... I must pay for child care and what not.

I did have to buy a new car too, because my old car was a hatchback... that would flood when it rained really hard. I think there was a crack on the bottom, and when I would drive on huge puddles, I knew to expect "water in my trunk". It was gross... HAH! So I did buy a higher end car. I was very exited and proud of myself... Fast Forward 3 years... never will I ever again buy a 1. New car and 2. Higher end car! HAH... the monthly payment alone can do so much damage at Sephora/Mac. =P (on a serious note, I wouldn't spend it ALL of it on make up)

I think the most I've spent at once was nearly $400 in Sephora, which sounds really scary but actually I bought several pressed powders, mascaras, and tinted moisturizers to try and ended up returning all the products that I didn't like... Which was more than half the amount I originally spent. I love return policies!

To be honest, I'm pretty good at not buying too much makeup so I think the most I ever spent was $50 and that was only because I had to get a foundation for grad.

I'm not sure about "one day" as I don't sleep too much so it all feels like "one day" to me, however last week I was gifted £74.50 at MAC, spent a further... £33 at ELF with a 20% off discount, £58 at MAC, then another £53 at MAC and I just spent ANOTHER £81 at MAC.. also somewhere in there I spent about £10 at the drug store.

Yes.. I realise I have a problem. However I am new to MAC and I'm loving building up my collection! :)

200 in sephora. Sephora makes so much money. It's like a candy shop. You can never go in and get one thing. There is so much!

$250 at my first time at M.A.C! i bought lots of face stuff, and half of the products made me break out hardcore. now each time i go, my prices are about 45. I usually only buy refill eyeshadow pans at M.A.C.
