I have a wedding to attend next weekend and my skin has decided to go all crazy because of Prednisone. I usually use Bare Minerals Original in Golden Tan, but I need something with more coverage that won't feel heavy or suffocating. My skin is combination oily, but I'm prone to dryness (it's finicky). I would prefer drugstore, but most likely will have to go with department store since I'm so hard to match. Also, suggestions for concealers would be awesome as well.

Any suggestions?

They say the drug store brand that has the most colors is L'oreal True Match. Then other people say that this foundation is pretty good and has a lasting effect is Revlon Colorstay. There is a oily/combination or a normal/dry formula. A slight few people who have combo skin say they like the normal/dry better, and it doesn't set as fast as the oily/combination one.

Then for higher end foundation that has match pretty much everyone , especially those who say they have never found a foundation that did prior to using this foundation... Is Make Up For Ever HD foundation. It photographs well too, which is a big plus at weddings.

For Drugstore I really like Revlon ColorStay. It doesn't break me out at all since they different formulas for different skin types. It is also very long lasting and photographs well. I also like Revlon Photo Ready, but I have heard it can look not that good in photographs...I would go with Revlon ColorStay!

When I'm having a crazy breakout I actually like to go light on the foundation and just concentrate on covering my blemishes with concealer instead of going for a full face of makeup. I just feel like it draws less attention to the fact that my skin is having a less than perfect moment. There's a great YouTube vid where the makeup artist Lisa Eldrige does excactly that (she's amazing). You can see it at:

@angela ^man oh man I wish someone would have given me that advice when I use to have really bad acne! I would just put layer over layer of this and that, ughh! I *shudder* thinking about it.

anywayss, I agree with the other girls..if you can afford it MUFE HD, if not Revlon Colorstay.

I just started using L'oreal True Match super-blendable concealer...and I love it. Neutral matched my skin really well, very blendable like it says, soo easy to work with and stays on all day!

@Angela - The problem isn't the acne itself, but the spots and the redness the acne has left behind. Bare Minerals can only be built up so much, so I need something with much more coverage that is still breathable.

Thanks for the suggestions, too, everyone. I will hopefully go and find something on Tuesday to try and play with.

Why don't you go to Sephora and get a few samples? Then wear the one that you liked best to the wedding. It would save you the money, if you only want it for that particular day. I think MUFE HD is light, and very buildable, with a large range of shades.
