Hi everybody! So, I have really bad oily skin, and my foundation seems to make things even worse. I have heard that powder foundations are best for people with oily skin! Is this true? I also need something that will give me full coverage!(this is why I tend to stick to my MAC studio Sculpt foundation) Any beauty tips? Advice? I would really much appreaciate it!

I have oily skin and tend to use a thin layer of liquid foundation to even out the skin, followed by concealer and then set with MAC Blot Powder which does a great job of controlling sebum for a couple of hours.

Invest in the blot powder, you won't regret it :)

You could also try a shine-control primer before your foundation.
But yes, liquid ones tend to make oily skin oilier after a while. Powder would be a more appropriate choice, but if you like the look of liquid, then a good oil-controlling primer before and pressed powder after should do the trick.

I have extremey oily skin as well, and I use a combination of products. First, don't skip moisturizer just because you have oily skin. I use smashbox photo finish light primer (which is oil free) no matter what foundation I use. I also use Benefit's erase paste concealer everyday, and set it with e.l.f.'s transluscent mattifying powder under my eyes. If it is just an average work day I use Tarte's Provocateur Powder which gives good coverage, but is still light enough to last all day in the Florida weather. If it is a night out or a special occassion I will add another step and that's Too Faced Amazing Face foundation (which is also oil free) and add the Tarte powder on top, or Too Faced's Primed and Poreless powder to set.

IMO, powder foundation works only if you've mostly flawless skin to start with. (Ditto for mineral foundation.)

Ignoring foundations and primers for a bit, what is your current skincare routine?
