Hello all! So, I have a wedding to go to this weekend and of course, am already brainstorming the look I want to do.. hahaha. I'm craving a bold, red lip again, but I know most Asian parents or adults aren't fans of young girls doing bold lip colors. I know my mom doesn't like it on me personally.. can anyone else relate?

I would do bold lips if I wear you, ppl will always talk anyway, best not to pay much attention to them.
I went to a wedding 2 weeks ago and wore MAC Ruby Woo l/s :)

Go for it. It's a celebration of love, so the more passionate colors the merrier. ;)

I think bold, red lips looks glamorous and great for a wedding! Unless the colour red is symbolic for something bad in a certain culture (you don't want to disrespect anyone), I don't see why you can't wear it and look great in it! :) Not a lot of people have the guts to pull off red lipstick so if you have the confidence go for it!!! :D

Bold lips are great alongside very subtle eyeshadow and blush.

I think as long as the rest of the makeup isn't too intense it should be ok. Maybe you can do a rich coral color or blend different colors to make it more subtle. Just do you!

I can totally relate LOL! I love strong dark nail polishes etc and my parents certainly weren't fans!
I think a bold lip will be acceptable if you play down the eyeshadow and blush :)

i agree, if you do everything else minimally, then it shouldn't be too big of a deal. maybe you could try a red lip stain instead, you still have the red without the intensity.

Red lips are beautiful and glamorous... Go for it! If you don´t want too much intensity you could try a red lipgloss... :)

the best advice and rule of thumb when it comes to weddings is NEVER try to outshine the bride. It's her special day, so let her shine!
That being said, just be smart about it. If you're going to rock a bold lip, keep your eyes subtle and your outfit demure and classy. If you go with a neutral lip, you can smoke out your eyes and rock something a little more eye catching (Just so long as it's not white!)

A bold lip is great but you don't want your makeup to be so loud that it upstages the bride! I say go with a more neutral lip and play up your eyes instead.

either way if you have great makeup its going to put some sort of spotlight on you! A Red matte lip would be great as a centerpiece for your makeup! The way to down play it is to use just a matte wash of nude on your eyes & some playful lashes! Sounds good to me!

I totally 100% agree with Erin!
Its her day Let her shine. I have worn bold lipstick to weddings a couple of times i either do a classic red lip with my pin up "get up" lol or a pink fushia lip with a classic neutral eye. i always bring a lipgloss just incase retouching up gets to annoying and then you look natural & classic :)
