I bought the Clarisonic Mia. I choose this one over the others because it comes in more colours and because I didn't think that I needed to have more than 1 speed.
I use my makeup remover first and then add my cleanser to the clairsonic, use a toner and then moisturize.
When I was reading reviews I saw that everyone said that within a week they noticed that their skin was getting better. I started to get annoyed after the first week and my skin was getting worse. I got mine before Christmas and now almost a month later my skin is finally starting to improve drastically. My skin was not use to the deep pore cleansing that I was giving it and I broke out pretty hard core aka skin purging. But now that my skin is use to it and I use it regularly it's pretty amazing.
I love how the mia is small and easy to travel with, and the fact that I've been using it every night for over a month I've only had to charge it once. You don't need to press hard just circular motions all over and it does everything for you.
My face is softer, cleaner and clearer. It is expensive especially as a student but it is something that you will use forever. Promise

It's like the difference between using a manual toothbrush and an electric toothbrush like a Sonicare... There is def a difference in clean. I've been using mine religiously for a year now, and cringe at the thought it will ever die on me. I've tried using manual brushes previous to owning one, and I find the device to be more gentle and efficient at the task than my own heavy hand.

So other than the fact it's motorized what's the difference between something like Clarisonic and a normal (manual) facial brush? I've used a brush over the years (on and off) and love the soft bristles but but is Clarisonic worth $150 when a $1 brush suffices?

I totally understand. I just think it sucks.
:(
I wish it worked for everyone.

@Nancy-Lee I'm kind of a germaphobe, so i made sure to clean it thoroughly after each use. It broke me out because since it exfoliates, it brought all of the junk in my pores up to the surface, and didn't stop doing it, which caused all of the breakouts.

I'm just saying it isn't a miracle product for everyone, so don't get your hopes up. Other people have obviously had a lot of success with it, but I did not.

@Susanna - I can't see the Clarisonic breaking you out, as it is just a brush. There are a few things that could have contributed to this:
The brush head needs to be removed after every single use and rinsed off, soap and makeup build up behind the head. You also need to soak your head in 70% alcohol once a week for 2 minutes. Perhaps your skin was experiencing your skincare regime in full effect for the first time and went through a purge. :(
I hate when good people have bad experiences!

Just know it doesn't work for everyone!

I bought the Mia bc everyone was raving about it and it made me breakout so badly for 2.5 weeks so I just stopped using it.

so BEWARE. everyone raves about it, but I have heard similar stories to mine.

I am tempting for this to be my next beauty splurge!

Mine beeps to let me know it's time for a charge before it dies. It gives me about 3 more uses before it will not turn on and I am forced to charge it.

@Marty Your clarisonic should have two lights on the back side (opposite side from the on/off button) and when you're clarisonic needs a charge it should have a yellow light (as opposed to the regular green light).

Hope that helps!

Does this mean I don't have to charge my clarisonic everyday and if so how do you know when to charge it before it completely dies out? Well I guess I will know right? duhhh!!! lol. And what's the difference between the pro and the plus? Which is better?

I got mine for Christmas from my (awesome) boyfriend and I can't imagine living without it now. It makes my skin super soft and smooth, so much so that I can skip foundation most days. It just leaves me with an amazing glow. I have combo skin, though, and it does tend to dry my cheeks out if I use it too often, but a good moisturizer will take care of that.
I've tried the Olay thing, but it really just doesn't do as great a job. I used that one first to remove my makeup and then followed it up with my Clarisonic Mia and there was still makeup left on my face that the Mia picked up. I highly recommend it over the Olay tool if you can afford it.

It does last forever. It's been a while since I used it... right now it's in a drawer collecting dust. I turned it on a few days ago, and it started working. I was like wow... it's been FOREVER since I last charged it.

1 full charge lasts forever. I use mine 2 times a day and I get 2 - 3 weeks from it. (I have the full size BCA model.)

I so want to cheat and try it but, I will be good and wait 24 hrs! Omg... that means tomorrow at 4:30, ughhh! Grrr!

The beeping makes me 100% accountable - no matter how tired I am. Almost as if it were giving me permission to move on to the next area. Forehead, nose/chin, cheek & cheek. So darn simple. The improvement that I see is because I stick with the entire cycle. The sonic action gently exfoliates only whats ready to lift off, therefore you always have freshest skin cells on top and without dead skin getting in the way, your products work to their fullest potential.

Hey Marty... when I got it, it came with 3 sample Clarisonic fash washes. I can't remember what, maybe 1 for normal skin, 1 for dry, and 1 for oily/combination. I think I tried the oily/combination, then the normal... then when I realize it worked with any cleanser (yeah I was naive, lol), I bought Purity. I used it with Purity because I saw that Sephora was doing a package deal, so I thought why not try it out. I could've sworn I used up a whole bottle of the Purity before I gave up on the Clarisonic. It wasn't the biggest bottle of Purity, but it wasn't a sample size either... so I thought I "tested" the Clarisonic out long enough.

What another poster Mandy mention was cleaning off the brush head with antibacterial soap after each use. I think that could've been the trick. I assumed while washing my fash, the brush head was cleaning itself too. Well, after I gave it a good rinse with just water afterwards.

Hopefully when I use it again, it will have a better outcome for me. =)

Oh and yeah, I waited 24 hours before using it the first time. =)

@Nancy - Thats a good point. I think Ill go ahead and buy it. I The Olay doesnt have any sort of timer and its battery operated. I think one good thing about it is you can change the speed on it, but I never use anything but the lowest speed. I never really saw drastic improvement in my skin, thats why I want to try the Clarisonic.

@ Jane A-It could be the cleanser you were using at the time.

I bought a Clarisonic, and I broke out bad. =( I'm not too sure if I used it for more than a month, because my breakouts weren't getting any better.

However, I will be giving it another try... once I buy another brush head. It's been collecting dust for a year or two. =|

I just got my Clarisonic! It's charging and do I really have to wait 24 hrs? lol

I'm waiting on the UPS man right now for my Clarisonic! And guess where I got it from... QVC! Yup, that right QVC, lol. Three easy payments and it comes with Purity, Hope and Beach party, lol. I can not wait to try it. I have to charge 24hrs before use tho, :(. I also have the Olay Pro-X and it is pretty good and NO Nancy-Lee It doesn't beep, lol. Good for travel tho. :)

@Tara - My personal suggestion: If you can afford to buy the mia, BUY IT. Try it for a few weeks (at least 2). If you like it better great! If not - Hang on to your receipt and return it. It is not a 'final sale' item and they feature 2 different technologies: One is 'Sonic' (based on the technology of their sonicare toothbrushes) and the other just spins.

My question: Does the Olay beep and tell you to move on to the next quadrant or is it a free for all, you start, move around and finish as you like?  xoxo

Does anyone have the Clarisonic as well as the Olay Pro-x? I have the Olay Pro-x and feel that it does an okay job, but I keep hearing about how the Clarisonic is better because of the sonic technology used. The Olay just has a spinning head. Would love some input because I am seriously thinking about purchasing the Mia since Sephora is having that Chic sale going on right now. HELP!
