I prefer wedges if I have the benefit of time. Otherwise use a brush or fingers to evenly distribute the product before blending with the wedges.

I really like brushes more - it conserves product [saving you $] and I feel it's more sanitary. I swore by the Sephora #55, but I've recently caved and purchased the Sigma Synthetic face brush set, and I am in love with the F80 of the 3 that come in the set. Super dense, product really only sits atop the brush hairs, so you barely waste any product and it gives such a flawless finish using buffing or stippling motions.

It depends on the foundation.. when I am applying liquid foundation I am always using my stippling brush from elf: it gives me a airbrushed, natural but beautiful skin. when I am applying mouse or cream foundation I prefer a sponge since that is so much easier to blend.. I recommend the beauty blender or a cheap copy of the beauty blender: both work for me, as long as you use it the right way :-)

Brush makes it easier to buff into skin.
