I noticed that Walmart, ShopKo, RiteAid and Walgreens all sell products from "The Color Workshop". Cost for most of the larger kits range from $9.99 to $20. Anyone have any experience? Seems like the colors are poorly pigmented and the brushes don't look so great. I was thinking it still maybe a good set for my teen daughter to play with to get use to applying makeup. Thoughts?

I think it's a great first-timer gift. I wouldn't dream of purchasing any of their products for myself.

They get so cheap after Christmas! I always end up buying a few. For the most part, the products are bad quality. But! There are some treasures among the crappy stuff. I always end up being surprised buy a few of the things I get from those kits and I love them. I'd say if you see one for cheap, get it. :) Why not? Yknow?

I figured for $10 for the largest kits it's a good practice item for my teen daughters. Plus it'll keep them out of MY stuff.

I got it a few years ago when I was just starting out with make up and it is terrible quality, but like Andrea said there are some good products, I was really suprised by some of the stuff in one of the kits. They aren't the best but they are great for beginners. They aren't very pigmented, which is good for beginners. I hope that helps. O! By the way, a few of the blushes are really pigmented. Some are barely noticable, but others are really bright.
