I'm looking to purchase the Red Carpet Manicure set to do my gel nails at home. The whole kit will cost me around $65. I pay $35 every time I go to the salon. Has anyone else tried this set and what do you think about it? Thanks!

Tiffany, I just got all thing things for this set. The nice thing is that you can use your Ulta coupons on all the red carpet stuff so that is a nice bonus:). I love it! It's really easy to use and it lasts a long time. I have had my current French manicure for almost three weeks!! They don't have a huge color selection, but there are plenty good colors to pick from! I hope this helps!!!

wow I want to look into this!

Hi Tiffany, I love the Red Carpet Manicure. I didn't buy the whole set, I would suggest this if you are better than most at doing your own nails. The gel is almost goof proof but it you don't get the edges of your nails good or get too much on the brush the gel might not last several weeks. I purchased the prep, gel, and top coat. The Purify Pre and Post cleanser is a waste. You can use rubbing alch. to remove the tacky film once your done. I did get the travel LED light from Ulta but it's wasn't good, so I purchased a more expensive fast drying light from Sally's Beauty its great. You can buy Gelish colors from Sally's too. I found 2 there that I liked better than some of Ulta's colors.

I have it and I love it. I was using the dark purple till last weekend, and then I changed it up to a classic French, which is what I have now. Not a huge color selection, but you can buy the colors from any gel line and use them, too, so I don't mind that. The one thing I have noticed is that the clear gels (base coat and top coat) tend to "bleed" to your cuticles, and once you've cured them, getting them off your skin is hard. So don't go all the way to the edges of your nails on the bottom of your nailbed, and you should be fine. Oh, and always tip off the tip of the nail - the gel will shrink as it hardens and if you don't tip it off, it'll pull away from the edge.

But I love them. :)
