Hello fellow makeup/beauty lovers. So, I need help from you creative beauties. Problem: tons o makeup (okay not a problem) + OCD organization tendencies= need to creatively catalog my collection so i know what to replace when empty.
Ok....please send me any of your ideas on how i can track what i bought. Would i buy again? And clever way of cleverly cataloging by color and type of product.
Becsuse short of buying a blank journal I'm clueless. Damn OCD. Xo
Thanks in advance. From a fellow beauty junkie.

Maybe try just using an Excel spreadsheet? (although that's probably not very creative) haha. You can put the product in one column, when you bought it, when it expires, etc...and maybe change the background color of the rows of products to whatever color the product is...or something like that! lol. You could probably do the same thing with a journal, but I feel like if its typed it would be much easier to change if you made a mistake. It would be awesome if there was a website (maybe even beautylish) that would have a system to keep track of makeup/nail polish colors etc...someone needs to come up with that! haha

I 100% agree with Melanie!
Becki, I also have OCD (really, I hate odd #s and when things aren't organized juuust right) and part of my job is data management. I think an online spreadsheet, say via Google Docs, would be a perfect idea! You can add excel functions and macros to your cells for classifications such as color, rating, value whatever! Hmm... If I come up with something I'll be sure to share! :)

Thank you both so much! Great ideas. Also, Heather. ..I can't stand odd numbers...the thing with OCD is that at least we know it does not any kind of sense! Thank you mucho ladies.

I keep all of my inventory on a spread sheet. I just add as I buy. I also keep a copy on my phone so if I'm not sure if I already own that item I pop open the spread sheet on my phone and check.

I'm ocd and can't stand odd numbers either! I would make a chart or journal about what you buy and do prices and how much of it you have like inventory and do a bunch of columns like when you got it, when it expires, price, etc.

Thanks to all of you! I am glad I posted my question! I'm so dorky...can't wait to organize and categorize. Xo
