I have quite a big problem right now. As I have gotten older I take longer and longer to get ready to go out (esp on the weekends). It's at the point where I take up to 3 hours getting ready!! Yes I am very high maintenance I admit that. I have very very long hair which now goes all the way down to my butt and takes a long time to dry and style... As well I have OCD and it has become worse as I've gotten older (due to stress and anxiety) so I am very peculiar with how I do things and am quite the perfectionist. Here's a time layout of my getting ready process:
Showering : 40 mins ( takes me almost 10 mins to brush out my hair alone!!)
Moisturizing and apply hair product: 10-15 mins
Makeup: 45 mins
Hair (drying and blowing drying and flat ironing if needed) 30 mins
It's soooo tiring getting through this tedious process. I am in desperate need of some advice to be ready quicker and stop running late for everything!!
Ps. I understand my long hair is a big part in why I take so long to get ready but I absolutely can't bear to cut it :/
Any advice is MUCH appreciated! Thanks ladies xoxo

On a day when you aren't going anywhere play around with your makeup and try different things that are quicker. Look up 5-10 minute makeup tutorials on YouTube and try to do your routine at a faster pace. Try a BB cream (I love Flower's. It has great coverage and has basically replaced my foundation the last few weeks) for quick coverage instead of foundation. And for the hair, try a brush that has sponge bristles that absorb water. My hair isn't very long but for whatever reason it used to take FOREVER to dry. I picked up a brush that has the sponge bristles and it removes a lot of excess water and has cut my drying time down to 5-10 minutes. I usually do my makeup first and give my hair time to air dry a bit on it's own and then blowdry last and its quicker that way. You could also get styling products that help straighten hair. They have leave in creams that you can put in before blowdrying so that as you blowdry it helps your hair to dry straight. That way you will either not have to straighten or you'll just have to run it through a few times to get any kinks out/polish the ends. And I know you said you don't want to cut your hair but maybe just a small trim could help. Cutting off dead and split ends will probably cut some time off your routine because you won't have to fuss with them. I hope some of these things help you out!

Same here lol. I usually try to wash my hair at night and straighten it, then do my facewash routine. then just wash and shave my legs and all in the morning, makeup, etc. then it doesn't take as long to fix my hair. It splits it up.

Thanks Ashley! It's nice to see someone else who feels my "pain" when it comes to dealing with long thick hair. The only issue with me skipping more than a day and a half of washing is that my blonde hair looks darker due to the greasiness :/ poo. And I use baby powder or psssssst dry shampoo sometimes which isa nice touch up!

If I were you I would cut my hair a little, but I would recommend taking a shower at night instead. That way you have more time. Leave your hair natural instead of curling or straightening.

Caitlin- thanks for your input! I do use a bb cream every day but I also apply foundation and concealer after because my skin tends to be very uneven and pinky but when I have good skin I use just a bb cream and a concealer! I should really invest in one of those brushes you speak of though! I use a microfiber towel to help with drying time but I can use anything that helps!!
