Pinching tool? nails

So do any of you use a pinching tool when doing acrylics? I'm new to doing acrylics and after watching NAIO Nails on YouTube and seeing the lady always use it it seems like its needed?

Its not needed. Most people juat uae there fingers to pinch the nails
