I coloured my blonde hair ginger ages ago and I tried out a new ginger/red hair product but it made my hair a ugly red that I don't like. if I was to change it to a light brown would it cover the red?

No in the sunlight or at certain angles it would still look red, I've dyed my hair red twice.I dyed it red than brown than red again than black and it always came through slightly.

No. the only way to get rid of red is to bleach it completely. I had the same problem, I dyed my hair brunette three times. I finally just gave up and bleached my hair. it does a lot of damage on your hair though.
