Hi beauties, trimming your hair every 3-6months will keep your hair looking fresh & healthy. You'll get rid of that brittle damaged hair. On average your hair grows half an inch every month. Here is a chart to give you an idea of how much you need to trim & why. Hope it helps. :)

While I agree with trimming hair regularly... (Generally 8-12 wks depending on length and how often the hair is heat styled) the graph is slightly inaccurate due to the fact that if you braid hair that has layers in it, it will gradually get thinner as you get to the ends because of the layering... There is less hair at the bottom than the top when you layer so the braid gets skinnier and it had nothing to do with breakage... Just something to keep in mind do everyone doesn't go out and get unnecessary length taken off :)
