Ok so I've been thinking about getting a spray tan since I'm fair and it takes me forever to tan (burn then tan *rolls eyes*) I've tried gradual tanning lotion but they make me streaky and smell bad :/ I want to get a spray tan but I don't want to turn orange... What are some tips before going? How does it work? do you shower after? Or not? And what about your hands?

No! Especially if you have fair skin, you're going to look orange and really unnatural. This is my recommendation and it's not gradual you see the color right away(: it gets just slightly darker over night and you can build it up. The colors natural I use it on my sister who is very very pale. Just make sure to exfoliate before you use it.

I'm actually pretty pale and when I got my spray tan I loved it! I didn't look orange at all. Just don't try to go so dark. Make sure your freshly clean. And don't shower after. Wear lose clothes and just sleep in it overnight.

Don't do it. Especially if you have dry patchy skin or eczema like me. Spray tanning is just not worth it.

I don't have dry skin, and I'm not pasty white... And I just want a slight tan, so I wouldn't go dark or anything. So you do get it on your hands?

Spray tans are awesome! My suggestion is to get them done by a person, not a machine. The people who do spray tans will keep you from looking orange or streaky. Exfoliate and moisturize the night before. I'm a pretty pale person and this is what I look like with a spray tan. I'm on the right.

Sorry, I realized it was a poor photo to see. I'm on the left in this one.

Other than that since spray tans can be pricy I would recommend st. Tropes tanning mousse. It uses the same stuff as spray tans, and as long as your get to your level of tan, and reapply about twice a week you look totally awesome and bronzed. You can get it at sephora for $50 for a big bottle. It's kinda pricey but it is the fastest, and the most natural tan you can get. Get an applicator mitt as well (so you don't stain your hand). It's about five bucks. This is me with a st. Tropez tan.
