Help With Lemon As A Skin Treatment?

I want to use lemon juice on my skin, but find that its quite irritating for my skin. any ways of making it less irritating? (I'm using it to treat acne scars)

Are you jst using lemon juice cuz iuse lemon juice mixed with sugar and rub it on my face then rinse with cold water.. inever had any problems with it.

I mix it with sugar as a scrub.
