I've never seen a tattoo placed like that before. I would say its a good first tattoo, its the perfect size.

My friend has gotten a tattoo and they wouldn't let her first tattoo be one that is on her foot, due to it being too painful. Please, please, please do some background research on your tattoo shop before you go!

Feet hurt a lot and they need to be touched up often.

My friend got her foot done and she said it was insanelyyyyyy painful. It's one of the most painful places on your body to get a tattoo. Also, the feet and hands shed layers of skin faster than other parts of the body which means you will have to get this touched up more frequently than other tattoo's.

Thank you so much! Tina, I know it's something I want, I was more worried about the pain for a first tattoo. Thanks for your input!

I've had the top and side of my foot tattooed (on top was my first ever tattoo) and it seriously barely hurt at all. It was my least painful tattoo, even for a boney area.
The side on the other hand, sucked! My feet are extremely sensitive on the sides and it was so ticklish when the guy was touching it, also it gets right onto the boney parts and can be quite painful in certain areas, but not all over.
If you seriously want it and can afford it then definitely get it done, don't let the pain scare you away.
Tattoo's hurt a little at first, then it all just becomes a dull background pain after a few minutes. (I have 7 tattoos)
I'd suggest going with a friend/boyfriend/parent, because then you can sit and talk about stuff.
Also if a tattooist tells you that they have to change the font/position/size/etc. Then just walk out. It's your tattoo on your body, you have to look at it every single day for the rest of your life, so make sure you don't let them push you around because otherwise you will seriously regret it. Even if they are "supposedly" great tattooists, if they tell you they're going to change all this stuff about it otherwise they won't tattoo it, then just walk away.

Feet hurt like hell in my experience and I've had "the most painful" areas tattooed but my foot hurt the most. also tattoos on the side of your foot are going to fade quite fast because of the constant rubbing from shoes.
