Eyeshadow colors for navy eyes?

Hey girls!
So I love eyeshadows, but I never know what colors will actually look good on me of how to apply them properly. I have fair skin at the moment and navy blue, almond shaped, eyes. Anyone have any color/application tips for a beginner? :)

I think there's a little bit of trail and error when it comes to eye makeup. You really have to find a method that works for you and your eyeshape.
