You should probably thank your mate but just go out and buy better ones. Some hair extensions that are cheap are sewn together any way they like. Where as remy human hair are all kept with the follicle at the right end. Sorry I'm having troulble trying to explain it, but basically if the hair isnt all sewn in the right direction it makes it matt together really easy which is why they need brushing zx

I have Remy extensions, and I actually have the same problem. When you buy extensions make sure they are 100% human hair. If the package doesn't say 100% then they probably use synthetic filler in the extensions.
I just use the same products that I use on my regular hair (an argan oil spray and Macadamia leave-in conditioner and a heat protectant if I use heat on them).

Try giving them a good washing with a clarifying shampoo...! hopefully they're feeling that way because of product buildup as opposed to an actual problem with the hair itself.

I wear extensions and they feel just like that too. Normal shampoo just makes it worse and tangles them but a friend of my moms washer hers with fabric softner and it works!:D ut leaves it super soft(: Weird but it works. I know cuz thats how I wash em with c:

Hmm I would try a deep conditioner treatment on them, that should help to make the hair smoother and softer. And like Heather M said if you use heat use the same products as if it were your hair. And I agree or buy some from Sallys the 100% human hair. Thats where I buy mine:) Hope I helped :)
