I've been cutting my own hair with years. I invested in a good hairdressing scissors from boots and watched samvillahair on youtube. he explains how to cut hair so easily and he has a great tutorial video on how to cut layers properly.

Keep it simple!:) an easy way to trim your ends is to take your hair and twist it at the bottom and then snip off a little. If you split your hair into the left and right halves and cut them both while they are pulled forward in front of your shoulders it will create the "you" shape in the back :)

Thanks guys, I've cut my own bangs before and my mom usually cuts the rest of my hair. I wanna do layers this time though.

I wouldn't recommend cutting hair at home, my sister does but I've tried and it went horribly wrong, but I'd definitely go to the hairdressers as they give you advice too and help to keep on track of your hair.
