Is there anyway to get blonde or lighter hair with out bleaching?? My hair is naturally a dark brown and when I want to dye it I always have to bleach it and that is really damaging.

You have to bleach it. I know it sucks! I dye my hair dark brown and the only way for me to lighten it is to bleach :/

You could try lightening shampoos or chamomile tea but I don't guarantee blonde hair just lighter.

Your going to have to bleach it, I've been bleaching my dark brown hair for years and its really healthy because I use a lot of leave in conditioners and do hot oil treatments on my hair.

Bleaching is a must in order to go blonde. I recommend Paul Mitchell the lightener. Its amazing in keeping the integrity of your hair BC of the aragan oils it has n the bees wax in it.

I heard you can use lemon juice then go in the sun and it will enhance sun bleaching.

Actually there's is a away but it takes a while to do. Go to the salon get a blonde color and they will leave it in until it lightens. If you keep doing that it will eventually turn blonde. That's what I'm doing right now :)

Things like sun in have peroxide in them.
Lemons will help but it takes a long time.
Both will lighten your hair to red/orange if you hair isn't already light to begin with.

Umm... Actually every summer I lighten my hair just a little with lemon and water Mixed together and I spray it on my hair. It lightens it Alittle not a lot tho. I like to do it in the summer tho because when the sun shines on it help the lemon and water lighten it.

Okay you don't have to bleach these ppl are silly since you have dark hair just go get a blond dye and use thAt it won't be as light as shown on the dye but your dark hair will go lighter.

Bleach would be the obvious answer, but if you don't mind a slower (but healthier approach) you could always highlight color through your virgin hair. If your hair is virgin using permanent colors will lighten it a bit. If you keep going back to the salon every month more and more highlights will be added giving you an ombre-ish look then you can go from there. It'd be less damaging to your ends and bleaching your roots won't be too bad. Also depending on the lightness you're trying to achieve this may or may not work haha. It's hard giving advice over the internet with a hairdresser's mentality. There's so many factors you have to consider..
WOW ANYWAY. Good luck.
