My face dried out when I used Clean and Clear advantage kit so I just traded over to clean and clear mining burst which is still making me a lite dry. Does proactive work?

Noo. It broke me out in cystic acne! My skin felt dry but was super oily. It was horrible.

I would recommend not. It's one of those products.. That you would need for the rest of your life. Once your face clears up, and you leave proactive.. It'll break out again. It's pure chemicals and plain horrible for your skin in the long run. I would recommend investing in a clarisonic. YouTube some reviews if you want to learn more. It's a hefty price but would change and last you a lifetime. I used to battle with major acne and now it's completely gone as I'm cleaning my face properly and using quality products. Clarisonic is a mechanical face brush that gets deep into pores gently to exfoliate and cleanse. Invest in a good cleanser too. Gel/foam based cleansers are good for oily skin and creamy cleansers for dry skin. Clean then tone your face. Invest in good toner suited for your skin type. Then exfoliate At least once a week. Cleanse, tone exfoliate. And treat. If pimples pop up, treat it. Use natural remedies or a good quality blemish cream. Do your research! A good one I reccomend is bosica willowbark breakout treatment. Or plain old tea tree oil. And take care of your body on the inside as well. Hydrate and eat well an exercise! Makes a huge difference!!

I actually like proactiv...it's one of those love or hate things...

A lot of people don't like proactiv because it's benzoyl peroxide based, but what a lot of people may not know is that they have a gentle formula that uses no benzoyl peroxide. Not that I use that one though. Everyone's skin is different. It may work for you, it may not work for you.

Although I do like proactiv, you may want to look into a more gentle system first if you have not tried any acne skin care system. Trying a salicylic acid system may prove to clear up your skin. Bliss makes one that's really nice on the skin, and smells pretty good. And you know that they're going to have good skin care products since they are a spa company! Clinique also makes good skin care products...I think they do utilize benzoyl peroxide though...I THINK! Or, coconut oil has anti-microbial properties and is hydrating...I use it as my night time moisturizer.

Whatever route you take, just be sure you give it a good chance...at LEAST one month of religious use. If you're not being super regimental with it, you cannot expect the results to be your typical results.

But I also would like to say adding the Clarisonic to any skin care system will boost its results! Use the acne brush head...super soft. I don't recommend the deep pore cleansing one...though its name sounds appealing...it's too abrasive.

Hope you didn't mid my rant...have to defend my proactiv...hah-kinda?
