I brought maybellines bb cream and I don't its really a good coverup. What are your opinions on it and can you recommend a better bb cream?

Bb products are not supposed to be covering up. They actually stand for Blemish or beauty Balm, but not to give you coverage. If you want to cover up probably, then I would recommend you to use an actual foundation to do the job.

Are BBs similar to tinted moisturisers?

In my opinion, yes, similar.

It evens out skin tone.. Redness etc. for extra coverage you would need to apply concelear over top any blemishes that show through. Smashbox'd bb cream is pretty good. Coverage is a lot better than the maybelline one.

I would try one of the brand name korean brands such as Missha or Etude House. Since BB creams were created in Korea, the safest bet would be to by it from there. But also remember, BB creams are meant to give you a dewy, balanced finish. It is better for those who already have a good complexion and only wants something that will enhance.

I really like the "dream fresh" bb cream.. It's like a base before you apply your actual foundation and it hydrates your skin and blurs imperfections.. It's really nice I have so many tubes of it haha(:0.
