I have very dry and peely cuticles, my nails are small and prone to chipping and hangnails. I manicure mynails weekly and have tried everything, lotions, oils, but the hydration to my nails makes all polishes fall off and weakens the skin around my nails, but if I don't moisturize my cuticles dry and crack from manicuring. silk wraps are the only thing that seem to strengthen my nails enough and not fall off with too much cuticle oil. but they are tediius to constantly upkeep myself and once I remove them my nails start to chip away again. please help or advice or anything, I don't wanna have to constantly apply silk wraps but I need my hands looking well manicured and not gross and ungroomed.

First off, I had this problem since I was young. Always biting them. You need to stop wearing polish and lightly buff your nails. Keep doing that for a few months or else nothing will work. Your nails should recover once the new nail growth has been replaced by the old chipping nails. Keep nails short by filing

I'm a recovering nail biter, I just got over the habbit a few months ago and I guess I'm just expecting my nails to heal much too quicjly with little effort. plus I used to get acrylics over my weak and dry nails to prevent biting and picking so I guess I've thinned them out. I will be more patient and keep them short until they get some density. sad, but patience will pay off. thank you!

Try the hair, skin, & nail vitamins from the drug store or Walmart.
