I bought the MAC Corrector Palette after I had one of the artist show me how it worked and how to apply it. She used the yellow color to cancel out the purple under my eyes and then the color that matched best with my skin tone. However, she applied the concealer with the 217 brush (blending brush) and it came out amazing! I bought the palette and the brush. Then, when I tried to apply it at home, it came out cakey and the bristles irritated the skin under my eyes. I stopped using the brush and started applying with my ring finger and it melts the product nicely, but I cannot seem to make the purple under my eyes completely invisible :/ any suggestion on application techniques or switching to another brand? I'm all ears :)

I'd say maybelline, I have nude airfoam and it is perfect. If your skin gets irritated just use some face lotion. It works so well for me!

I am in love with Amazing Cosmetics Concealer. Unfortunately it is pricey but it covers everything flawlessly. I use my finger to apply it and it doesn't look cakey. I set it with my makeup forever loose HD powder and it doesn't smudge or anything. I hope I helped and I hope you find the product best for you (:

I recently started using Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer and it works very well. It has very good coverage, it's thick and creamy, and it's moist enough that it doesn't crease or appear cakey, not the slightest bit. One thing: it has a shiny finish, so I pat a *tiny* amount of HD finishing powder over it to make it matte. I highly recommend it, it's the best concealer I've ever used.

If you have purple circles under your eyes then using a yellowish concealer would work best because its opposite on the color wheel. Like how you use a green concealer to cover red acne. As for application I draw a triangle under my eyes, going straight down from the inner corner, out to the outer corner, and then closing it off. I just use my finger and it works really well, but dab don't rub because rubbing under your eyes can be too harsh and cause wrinkles.

Thank you ladies for all the suggestions ;)

I use the Coastal Scents 10 pan concealer palette. I use a regular concealer brush to or my ring finger apply it & use a beauty blender to blend out the concealer.

A good cheap concealer is the collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer, it can't look a little cakey if you apply to much otherwise it's really good coverage especially for under eye use. I suggest using your ring finger, the finger will warm to product up which means it will blend better plus using the ring finger is just the right touch not to light not to heavy. The eye area is the most delicate place on your face so you don't want to be dragging the skin. A brush is another way but I find myself using more concealer with the brush then I do with my finger because the brush is dragging to concealer and not blending into the skin. Also with a brush it can leave a streaky finish where as with the finger it doesn't x

I've always applied the concealer with a concealer brush but blended it in with my fingers. I feel like my finger works better than a brush. And then I use a foundation brush just to make sure I blended everything together nicely.
