Good evening beautiful people!!
After some advice!!
Basically I am having nothing but bother with foundation. I have, I think, combination skin. Mostly normal all over with the occasional dry patch. I also have acne scarring on my chin, large pores on my nose and freckles/rosy cheeks. I have tried a lot of drug store foundations, loreal, maybelline, revlon as well as Mac. I've tried fingers, brush and a beauty blender for application. My problem is I can never get it looking flawless!! My dry patches show up, the tone isn't even due to my different skin tones and it never completely covers my scars/zits!! Sorry for the essay but please help a desperate lady out!!

If you want perfect looking skin, you need to either get your skin perfect or cover it like paint. I worked for Ulta Beauty for a while and to get "perfect" skin was something most people didn't understand. Dermablend will cover all your imperfections, but it's heavy. I have yet to find a product that covers that well without it being noticeable.

I watched a Wayne G. tutorial (fabulous) and he recommended using a full coverage concealer mixed with a lotion instead of foundation. Applied all over the face with a brush, he said it gave beautiful results. You should find his video on it. I am definitely going to try this trick out, I will let everyone know how it works out because I hate foundation as well girl!

Try Estée launders double wear stay in place foundation. My skin is a little on the dry side and I suffer from redness in my cheeks and nose. Also try applying your foundation with a stippling (spelling?) brush. I have found it gives me the best coverage applying that way. Clinique also has an entire line just for redness. It's called redness solutions. You could check it out and see what you think. Good luck.

Thanks ladies!! I'm currently working on fixing my skin issues, the scarring however is the main issue. When I try to build up foundation to cover them better it just looks patchy and thick.
I'll definitely take a look at that Mia, thank you! Let me know if you have any luck!
Did you find a good match Amie for all the differences in skin tone? I'll also have a look into the Clinique products

Yes I did find a great match. The ladies at the counter will match you and they usually do a great job. If you are skeptical they will give you a ten day supply that way you can try before you bye.

I've been using garnier dark spot corrector for about a month now and I can see definite reduction in my acne scars. You should definitely check it out. It doesn't dry you out. It a very light product you just put on before bed. You won't see results over night but it has helped me a ton!

Try MUFE HD foundation or one of the Dior foundations. I have acne and acne scarring and both help make me look flawless, especially in photos. I also have combination skin and both products do not feel too oily or heavy on the skin, whereas cream foundations and oil-based products do. goos luck!

Do you have a face wash routine suited for combo skin and moisturizer? I would start there. For the rosy cheeks I use Mary Kay's yellow concealer ( for my roscea) Ahhhhhmazing... And try swirling your foundation on. Back, fourth, up, down... It really hides the pores that way. I do love Mary Kay line. Did wonders for my red face & wash routine. Hope this helps. Just my opinion.

Yea be sure to moisturize that might help with the dry spots.

Don't worry...as you begin to adopt a skin care routine, the scaring will fade. I'm experiencing the same problem. I decided to stay away from foundation for at least a month to get my skin right. afterall, I need my canvas to be clean, clear, and pretty!!
