Dark Knees Makeup?

Dealing with dark knees and elbows is not fun :( I can't wear shorts because I don't want my dark knees to show. I got them chemically exfoliated by a dermatologist and I had no results.. So I gave up cuz I tried everything to lighten them up. SO now I'm wondering if I can cover them with makeup?? Would you suggest anything?

Try rubbing your knee with lemon you get results after a week

Def not with foundation kind of makeup. Actually no makeup. Leg bronzing lotions or rub them with lime once a day. Also tanning works specially if you use tanning lotion it evens out the skin color.
