It's fake hair (often horses hair) and its weaves into your regular hair, many black girls have them Bc they don't grow hair very fast, and it makes their hair longer, and their are many different styles of weaves you can get to see and image just go look on google images.

I agree with Annaa C. my weave is always human hair and @Jordan black girls hair does grow, some just faster than others depending on their type of hair.

Well first of I didn't say other races don't wear weaves, but you mostly see black girls wearing them. @annaa and I didn't say black girls hair doesn't grow, I just said that it grows slower.

Jordan if your going to give out half information don't say nothing at all , first off weaves are not from horses there are many types of weaves such as wavy , curly , and straight. Weave can come from different parts of the world worn by many ethnicities. Your hair don't have to be short for weave some people like them for fullness while others wear them for the length.

And just letting you know, at least where I live the white girls call the wefts (pronounced wef) and they only get clip ins, the black girls call them weaves and get whatever kind they need for their purposes.
