Well most powders don't do much. they do help to make the skin matte and make foundation stay on longer.
why don't you try a bb cream with some powder? look more natural and gives you the coverage you need depending on which one you buy

For me, when used over foundation they do just as much work as the actual foundation and concealer. Granted, the only one I've ever used is mac mineralize skin finish natural.

I use Mac pressed powder studio care blend and I love it. It was 30 something dollars which is a bit steep but it was definitely worth it. It makes my skin look so good while looking completely natural. It's a pressed powder so it's super easy to use and goes on nicely.

I have Laura Mercier loose mineral powder and that can *pass for a bit of the day before needing retouching. I usually use my compact for when I'm out of the house and need to touch up.

Ha! oops...I love Physicians Formula Organic Loose Powder. It covers really well and it doesn't irritate my skin at all. They have it at Ultra and Wal-Mart, it's like 1O bucks.
