What color should I dye my hair?

Okay I've wanted to dye my hair blonde for so SO sooooooo long now. But I'm really pale... So is there a shade of blonde that would look good on me? And if not, what about light brown or maybe even red or auburn?

I always suggest ombrè. It would look great on your dark hair and it wouldn't wash you out like a full wash of blonde might.
