Both toothpaste & aloe vera are very good for soothing burns :) I say use toothpaste since its at hand. Just apply it & let it dry then just wash it off later. :)

To prevent major scarring use vitamin E oil every morning and night. I did it when I burnt my chin and it has healed with barely a scar (it was a really bad burn.
