Take Advil BEFORE you get them on so you won't feel any pain afterwards!

I actually really want to get braces to straighten out my teeth, but I can't get them because I'm not growing in all of my adult teeth, so most of my teeth will always be baby teeth, and braces could damage them.

Oh gosh, they suck! I had mines for 3 years and it was horrible. lucky me, I chewed gum and ate candy and nothing ever broke. the worst part for me was the next few days after they got tightened. I once had them tightened on my bday! I've had them off for over a year and I am so happy.

Oh my god having braces was the best. I loved them so much and I actually cried while they took them off ): when I first got mine it only hurt when I brush my teeth, but make sure you take Advil before you go to get them! And probably before any other appointment you have to get them tightened

Just prey you don't need what's called a herbst appliance, which is for overbite. The braces themselves were like a joyride compared to that hell.

The first week I got braces, I ate soft food only... I was told not to eat steak after getting braces because I'll regret it buuuut once you're used to them, it's not so bad. Take tylenol extra strength to ease the pain. :)

She told me all I need is the actual braces, and some rubber bands.

Always always brush your teeth. If you don't, you will regret it in the long run.

I have braces, and the first few days, if you pardon my French, sucked bum. I couldn't even put the wax on them :/ but my friend sad she never had any pain which I though was weird lol. At the orthodontist they will supply you with what you will need like flossers and wax and mini brush picks. And they will give you the rubber bands too

Also I have chewed gum and eaten popcorn and all that delicious stuff you aren't allowed to have, and I haven't broken anything so far, but be careful with the really tough foods and sticky stuff :)

I have braces. When you get them be careful with bread, bread always gets stuck between my brackets. Whole apples are not a combination with braces, so try to cut things like that up into bite size pieces so its easier to eat. good luck!

I have braces now they aren't uncomfortable at first a bunch of food gets caught, but as time with them on goes on less and less food will get stuck.

For me it kinda stopped hurting when they tightened them but you really get used to them and you learn how to eat sticky stuff with them :$

It only hurts for the first 3 days & then you get use to them. They aren't nearly as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Just make sure you have wax cause the braces rub up against your inner lip & it tears it up. The only major negative about braces is that food gets stuck in them & it's pretty gross (if you as me), but otherwise you have nothing to be worried about!

I've had braces since I was 8 and just recently got them off. Yes, it will be sore a few days after you firat get them on, and a few hours after every time you go get them tightened after that, but it's nothing some Motrin can't fix! :) Make sure you brush after every meal and floss regularly! that's the one thing I regret avoiding, once I got my braces off my gums were quite inflamed! :/ Contrary to popular belief, you CAN chew gum, just make sure it's sugar free so it won't get caught in your braces! :)

I have braces and they don't really hurt as much as I expected! I had un neater teeth then anyone I knew and you can't feel a thing when they get put on, nothing at all I'm not just saying that. And your teeth will start hurting for only a few days but not to long, like 1 week or less. Cleaning is easy and I eat most foods, just brush well. I get food stuck in my teeth but I take a little brush thing with me but I can usually get it out with my tongue haha
Hope I helped😊👍✌

When I got braces scrambled eggs were the perfect food to eat because they are soft and high in protein! The other thing I ate was pudding!

I have braces too, for a while already and the first Week was so horrible! I had to eat soup everyday and loads of icecream, frozen yogurt and smoothies witg crushed ice. It was a lot of pain. But now, having them for over a year, I experienced I can eat everything, and I food is likely to get stuck in the braces (this REALLY sucks), and I spent a lot of time brushing my teeth. But there is no pain anymore, after one week it will be gone :) And getting them tightend is not as bad as it sounds. Pain is for me 2-3 days.

I got mine about 2 weeks ago and I was terrified! But it's fine, it doesn't hurt when you're in the dentist getting them, just the next few days your teeth are just a little sensitive but that's about it! Make sure you only eat soft food for the first few days!
