I cut a pair of jeans into these cuffed Bermuda shorts but I don't know what to do with the lace thing, if I should keep it or take it off with a Seam ripper. Also, what type of top and shoes shoud I wear? I can't wear a tank top or flip flops because my school banned those.

If you could wear a lose cropped top with sleeves that would work because the shorts look high waisted! No stomach would show and it would abide by the school dress code, as well as be super cute
