Does it hurt getting your ear pierced by yourself!? How can you do it?

Ashley D.
Don't, it's better to get it done by someone whi knows what they are doing.

If you know what youre doing, go ahead. ice will numb it really well, so ice it before and youll be fine. make sure to keep it clean!

Why would you do it by yourself?

Don't do it it might get infected and you probably won't get them straight - you need someone who knows what they're doing and can make sure they're straight :)

But if you have to do it by urself then make sure you keep the same earrings you pierced them with in for 4 weeks without taking them out and clean them twice a day with sensitive soap x

I did my helix piercing myself and it turned out fine! I would recommend going to a professional but nothing bad has happened with mine as long as you clean it.

If I were. You I would get it professionally but if you know what your doing then go for it! And when I had mine done they said leave them in for 12 weeks.

It hurts more when you do it yourself in my opinion. But that's from my experience. And unless you know what you're doing you should go to a professional. This is coming from a girl who has experienced piercing herself and fucking up XD and honestly when someone else does it your body doesn't realize it's coming. You're expecting it when you do it yourself and it does hurt more. And the piercer will have completely sterilized needles too which would lessen the risk of infection.

Go to a professional. Plus ice won't help it just makes the ear colder and harder to pierce through.

I didn't pierce my ear by myself, by I did pierce my belly button by myself. I think it's better to go to a professional. They can provide proper care and hygiene advice, as you're more likely to fuck it up if you do it by yourself. Not to mention risks of infections, if it's not straight, etc.
