Are eyelash extensions really worth it?

I've been considering getting eyelash extensions, since my eyelashes are so sparse and virtually invisible. I've done research on the cost and how it's done, but is it really worth paying $200 for? Is there anyone that's had them done before?

I have a friend who had them done and almost all her real lashes fell out in two weeks.

One of my friends has them and they're gorgeous she gets them filled every 4 weeks but she did a lot of research in finding the right professional to do them. If I had the extra money I would definitely have them.
