I'm going to a debate to support my classmates so I won't be debating but a lot of well known colleges will be there such as Harvard and Yale etc.and I will be talking with them so is this outfit inappropriate?

Oh um, I think it's good as long as you wear tights!

Maybe. it looks more like a party dress than a person who takes themselves seriously.

I agree with amie. I used to debate in college and high school, and people dress a *smidge* more conservative. That being said, you won't stick out that much and I don't think the judges would care.

Maybe a skirt or even some jeans with a blazer would pull it out better!

I agree with luna...a blazer and a skirt:)

Maybe just a little too much...

I'd by a blazer to put over it I found some colored ones in kohls. Or if you want to look professional and can afford it , White House black market has stylists who can put outfits together for you and have good interview-y stuff.

Its a bit too short.

It's not appropriate for the event. Cute blazer and slacks or a skirt and heels; you'd be perfect.

L agree that it looks like a party dress. If you're concerned about Ivy League recruiters, you'll want to be more modest and conservative. Try business casual like slacks or a skirt that comes as close to your knees as possible and a nice blouse/cardigan/blazer combo. Cute belt though!

Not really Ivy League appropriate.

I think you could go with a longer bottom just so you can make the best impression

Dress like you are going to church or something. Be modest, but show that you are feminine. Like heels, a skirt, and a blouse

If you do wear a skirt it should be about 2 inches above the knee, dress pants, or a very very nice pair of jeans. A nice blouse and blazer (cardigan if you don't have one and can't spend the money). For shoes a nude or black pump (not necessarily sky high) or nice flats with or without stockings.

No! Defiantly not:)

100% not. At all. Slashed sleeves and short? You won't be taken seriously & you aren't dressed for the occasion. Longer pencil skirt/trousers with a blouse or blazer etc. Dress more conservatively seeing as you'll be in an academic, conservative environment.

A little to revealing

Maybe something else for the bottom.
