So I know I really shouldn't be embarrassed....but I am. I hate going to a makeup counter/store and not knowing what looks good with my skin! I know what eyeshadows and eyeliners I like, but I'm clueless when it comes to lip colors! I hate asking for help from the people that work at the counters because it makes me feel really dumb and inexperienced!

It shouldn't make you feel dumb. I ask also. Especially for a second opinion or even just for suggestions. Like Terra said. They're there to help you :)

A lot of people ask, because it is better to get their help then to spend a ton of money on the wrong shade!

Don't feel dumb! At least you have the courage to ask someone; I STILL get scared when I step into Sephora and I'm looking at all the foundation shades, wondering which one will fit my skin lol.

theres nothing wrong with asking for help if you dont know what would work on you..watching them put makeup on your face too at stores can help you learn to do makeup as well. if theres something specific your looking for they can help you with that instead of spending lots of money on something you might not end up liking. yeah i cant pick a foundation shade either by myself lol.
