I felt this needed to be in beauty since it is mainly about beauty, Just saying this before I go ahead on my basic rant.

I was browsing the beauty section in the photos tabs, Just looking for inspiration for looks I can goof around with, and I found a particular photo of what people were calling in the comments "Duck Flapper Nails". It was by a girl Brittany G. And as I was looking at the comments, I was basically horrified. So many girls that were older than me, from 14 to I'd say 19, Were basically leaving comments that said 'ew', 'Bleh' and etc. There was just one or two that left a basic or a nice response. I commented in a mini rant of how ashamed I was of how the majority of the girls had acted. The girl posted that picture to gain nice responses, or even a basic "This might not be your best work, But it still looks nice!" would have worked! Not to have girls that should know better to leave such immature responses. The best I could have asked for for a negative response would have been "I'm sorry, I just don't like this. But keep shooting for your goals!" or something along those lines would have been decent! Instead, they post 'Ew.' and move on to possibly hurt some other girls feelings. I've seen this happen too many times. Why do you do this? Does it give you some satisfaction that your just putting this girl down with no explanation? Just calling her nails disgusting? It's immature, rude and disrespectful! And you should know better! Even at your age, I'm thirteen, And even I behave better than that!
Please, just be respectful to others and watch what you type.
Thank you.

I don't understand why they need to comment. If I see a post of something I don't particularly like I just don't comment and move on. I'll never understand why some people are so rude! I'm with you, I wish everyone would be more considerate :)

I totally agree. People should be respectful of all opinions, at the least. But this is the internet. You can't be so sensitive about things.

The problem with the internet is 80% of people don't know the difference between honesty and rudeness. Commenting insults (EX: bleh, ew) isn't okay, and I've seen worse besides insulting nails on this site, I've seen snarky remarks about someone's weight and physical appearance multiple times, but it always gets dismissed as "honesty". This site is for helping each other and constructive criticism, not bullies and insults.

Maybe they should try a constructive critic instead. Such as
"your eyeliner is smudged and eyeshadow is creasing, how anout trying a primer? And try blending your foundation with a beauty blender cuz then it wouldn't make it look caked cuz its a waterbased sponge! But you'll get better with a little bit of practice."
And I super agree with Jes T.
HONESTY AND RUDNESS ARE VERY DIFFERENT

I agree. Honesty and constructive criticism is good, but there's no need to be rude or have an attitude about it. I see it a lot on here, and it really irritates me.

Constructive criticism is always the way to go, negativity get you nowhere. Props to you for making this thread!
