I got my second holes and a double cartilage pierced last Sunday. I have been cleaning them twice a day and twisting them, I'm using the cleaner the piercing place gave me,but when I clean my second holes they sting..is that normal? they aren't red or look infected. Sometimes they itch... also with my cartilage how long will it take for it to not hurt to clean it, and lay on it?
thanks!(:

They are so new that it might sting because the skin is so recently pierced. and the itching is totally normal.

First of all don't twist them, it will irritate them furthermore and slow the healing process by ripping the fistula. also what are you cleaning them with? you should only use sea salt and neutral soap in them twice a day NO alcohol, neosporin, ointments or stuff like that, its not necesary and could cause an adverse reaction. They are itching because they are healing. The pain usually goes away in a few days, you can take ibuprofen though :)

My cartilage still hurts if I lay on it too long and it's over 3 years old. It just a sensitive place.
