I don't know if its the best thing for your hair but I use a children's detanglig spray by suave. I have really curly hair and can't get a brush through without his stuff. and its only about 3 bucks :)

Use coconut oil, pure and unrefined, put it throughout your hair and comb to detangle. It works like magic.
I don't wash it out, I'm black and natural so my hair needs the oil, but I'm not 100% sure if you would wash it out or not.

Use conditioner in your hair when you take a shower. Run a comb through your hair while you are washing out the conditioner.

Wow thanks girls :) just curious do you think the cause of the tangles are from needing a trim. I am trying to grow my hair out, and I do not trust anyone to even trim it.
